Our First Date

March 31, 2014

We met on a semi-blind date after talking for a couple of weeks through a dating website. Natalie picked the place, and had Robert driving through a less than stellar area of town to meet for a beer at The Almighty Moon Tower Inn. The date lasted for hours - talking and laughing and realizing how many things we had in common. He donned an Astros' cap, she wore a Red Sox tshirt - but the differences were put aside and the rest is history.

Becoming Official

8/23/2014 - It's not official, until it's Facebook official

A few months of dating led up to a true test. Meeting each other's friends. We had been invited to Robert's best friend's birthday party - and I knew this was it. The moment of truth. The party was a success, and Robert asked me to be his girlfriend. He didn't know what he was getting himself in to! He has always considered this to be our anniversary, while I celebrate the day we met and our first date. Lucky for us we will now have a new anniversary that we can agree on!

The Proposal

5/4/2017 - The holiday proposal I wasn't expecting

It was a Thursday evening. I cancelled plans of going to yoga with some girlfriends, to stay home and have dinner with Robert - who had fired up the grill. Having a drink and playing some music in the back yard, our song comes on - and Robert asked me to dance. I think nothing of it, we cook and dance in the kitchen all the time! So as we are swaying to the music, Robert begins to talk about our life together and how we have to make our own perfect moments in life, and before I know it - he is down on one knee, ring in hand asking me to spend the rest of my life with him. To say I was shocked would be an understatement - I think I asked if he was serious a few times! After a big "OF COURSE!" a ton of hugs and kisses - and after placing the ring on my finger, we started calling our families. Robert said to me in all the excitement "I know you didn't want a holiday proposal, but I figured I could get away with doing it on Star Wars Day" ... #gettingBrandedbytheforce
