Caitlyn and I met at a church young adult gathering in December of 2020. We were introduced to each other by a mutual friend named Stockton who is friends with both of our best friends. We got to talking and exchanging all of the basic info like hometown, where we lived now, all of that stuff. But just as the conversation was gaining some momentum, another person walked up and stole all my thunder. I was bummed but smiling through it nonetheless. After the conversation wrapped up and Caitlyn was headed out, I speed walked to catch up with her in a last ditch effort to regain the previous momentum because I had a ton of fun talking to her. So, the following Sunday at lunch I look at Will Yancey and go “That Caitlyn girl I met earlier this week was really, really cool.” (Can’t give too much away, ya know?) Later that night Will texts me after getting the scoop from Stockton about how Caitlyn feels about me. He then proceeds to send me her contact with the caption “Ball is on the tee bud. You want driver or 3-iron?” So on December 14th, 2020 I called Caitlyn to ask her on our first date. We ended up going to Ponce City Market the following Sunday. She was so engaging, intentional, gracious, and clearly loved Jesus. We ended up walking around Ponce City Market for 4 hours! And it was toward the end when I thought to myself that this could be the start of something special. I asked Caitlyn on another date a couple of days later, and she hasn’t stopped going on dates with me since. In and through these dates I came to realize that I wanted to go on dates with her for the rest of my life… So on November 14th, 2021 Caitlyn said, “Yes!” when I asked her to marry me. PRAISE THE LORD! We can’t wait to spend the rest of our lives together and see all that the God who brought us together has in store for us! We love you all, Brandon
