Travel Note

Get your passports ready!

1. Have at least six-month’s validity remaining on your passport whenever you travel abroad. 2. Check the expiration date on your passport carefully before traveling to Europe – especially children’s passports, which are valid five years, not 10 years like those issued to U.S. citizens aged 16 and older

Hotel

El Greco Hotel Thessaloniki

Majority of guests plan on staying here! 9 minutes from our wedding venue. Walking distance to all the popular shops, restaurants, supermarket.

Flight

Flight options

I HIGHLY recommend checking out flights from LAX or JFK (depending on where you are located) Noted- Many will be flying into Mykonos or Athens before the wedding in Santorini. The flights going into other islands will be cheaper then flying directly to Santorini airport. I highly recommend visiting other islands while there

Travel Note

Ferry

If you find yourself with a little more time on your hands, you can book a ferry to take you from Athens/Mykonos to Santorini. It can take anywhere from 1-3 hours depending on the ferry you choose. It’s highly recommended to book the company “blue star ferries” vs the company “sea jets” Better boats and less chaotic The ferries in Athens depart from the Port of Piraeus and arrive in Santorini at Athinios Port, which is only about 15 minutes from Fira.

Information about hotels and where to stay

*Please read* The west side of the island, Fira, Oia, Imerovigli, and Firostefani, offers the most incredible views of the caldera. However, these sunset towns tend to be a much more expensive option. The south side of the island, Kamari and Perissa, will put you on beaches in Santorini and will provide beautiful views of the ocean for a more affordable price. This vacation is going to be tailored completely up to you, but my suggestion is to definitely stay on the caldera side (Oía, Fira) with those jaw dropping views maybe 1 or 2 nights if your budget can allow that, and then stay in Kamari the majority of the time. Or, if your budget just doesn't allow you to stay near the wedding venue, it will still be a fantastic location to stay in Kamari by the beaches and hop on the cheap bus or car ride over to Fira. Everything is pretty close!

Travel Note

Travel to the island Mykonos after wedding weekend

After the wedding the bride and groom, and their families will be staying on the island of Mykonos for more nightlife and beaches. We will be there between the dates July 27-29 There is a inexpensive ferry that takes you from Santorini to Mykonos I highly recommend looking on airb&b + Vrbo for better deals on stay Information on Mykonos: Mykonos is more lively, better beaches and beach clubs, lots of partying, and gorgeous scenery.

Travel Note

To save money

If you are looking to save on accommodation I recommend booking a hotel in Kamari, Santorini. It is on the beach side of the island.

Travel Note

Check out airb&b + Vrbo

You will find better prices booked with these companies. Especially if you plan on traveling as a large group, I would recommend booking a house! Much cheaper
