How We Met

03-08-2012

We met in a coffee shop. Rylie put his name and number on a napkin and handed me my drink. From then on We knew... Lets be honest here. It was 2011 and we met on Twitter! The first Alice In Wonderland had just come out, Christina Aguilera was preparing to release her album Lotus and we were both getting ready for Christmas. Rylie had tweeted that he wanted a copy of the Alice In Wonderland soundtrack and Brandon tweeted back asking for my address. Rylie, being the very innocent 20 year old he was, gave Brandon his home address. Someone he'd never met before, but knew of, now had his home address. After receiving the "burnt cd," (do people still do that?) we began talking every day. We finally met each other in OKC after a couple months of talking via phone, facetime, Skype and the occassional "HeyTell" message (walkie talkie app kinda like snapchat). We both knew after our time together on our first few dates that there was something special, but never expected to end up here.

The Proposal

10-8-2017

We had talked and knew we wanted to get married but we didn't know who was supposed to propose or when and where it should happen. Memorial Day weekend, we took a trip to NYC with our best friends (Russell & Andrew) just for the fun of it. We get there and the first day we decide to take a self-guided tour of Central Park. We had a great afternoon and decided to keep adventuring so we made our way to the high line. Without going into detail, Brandon had placed the ring in his pocket so that it wasn't noticeable and at some point had lost it. *fingers crossed that ring made some homeless man very happy* Fast forward to October of 2017. Brandon had a work trip planned to Las Vegas and Rylie was able to tag along for the fun weekend. Rylie, being the oblivious one half the time, had no idea what was to come. Brandon rushed us around all day saying, "we have to hurry," or "this line is too long." Then we get back to the hotel and Brandon says "you need to get dressed and wear something nice." Without any question or idea of whats to come Rylie just agreed and hurried as asked. Well, Brandon gets a limo to drive us around Las Vegas and Rylie still had no clue what was going on. Sunset rolls around, we finish walking around Freemont St and get back to the limo. As we're driving on the highway between the strip and the city with the view of the mountains in the distance, the sun is setting and Brandon pops the question. He couldn't have planned it better.
