Celebrate us falling in love

We met through mutual friends at the local community college. We all hung out in the upstairs lounge in between classes or while waiting for events. We gradually started talking to each other over messages and feelings naturally blossomed. We even dated for a week, but at that time Makayla wasn't ready to love someone so fast and deeply straight out of high school. So she broke it off, and we went our separate ways. Makayla to college and Brandon to the work force. Both always wondered about the one who got away until four years later.

We both had kept casual but close contact over the years but nothing started up again until 2017 when Makayla graduated college. It was then Brandon decided he was going to try one last time as he never lost his feelings of love. So he messaged Makayla again, but this time made sure to do it more frequently and more seriously. Then out of the blue for her, he asked to meet to "catch up". Without the other knowing, both thought of this as a date and both showed up nervously to the diner. We talked for hours and even left with reluctant hug as we both wanted more time together. From then on tons of messages were exchanged, and while Makayla wouldn't officially admit it, it was basically online dating for us to included "breaks ups" and "make ups". Again Makayla wasn't quite ready to jump into her feelings so again Brandon had to wait another two years before we became official.

On March 10th 2019, Makayla slipped up in one of her messages and said boyfriend when referring to Brandon, and he caught it. So he confronted her about it, and finally she said yes she was ready. From then on, it was a lot of commuting to each others home, and dates squeezed in between busy schedules. It was hard work, but worth it in the end. On March 13th 2020, Brandon proposed and Makayla said yes.
