Madysen first spotted Brandon at a dance hall and immediately had one question: “Who is THAT?” She didn’t know his name, but (with some detective-level persistence), she finally got a name. And in true 21st-century fashion, she added him on Facebook. At the time, Brandon was a firefighter, and Madysen was working in the emergency room. Their paths hadn't truly crossed yet, but the universe had plans. One day, Brandon saw Madysen in passing and was immediately smitten. Meanwhile, Madysen had already told her manager Michelle (now one of her matrons of honor) that she thought Brandon was so cute. Michelle, being the ultimate hype woman, decided to take matters into her own hands… and started secretly sending Brandon Snapchats of Madysen. Brandon ended up showing one of those pictures to his dad who just so happened to be a firefighter, too. His dad looked at the photo and said, “You need to go for it.” But Brandon, despite the uniform and bravado, was a little shy. One night, while Madysen was hanging out with Michelle, Michelle sent Brandon a hilariously embarrassing photo of her. Mortified, Madysen begged for Brandon’s Snapchat so she could send a proper apology. That message turned into a conversation… which turned into Brandon asking her on a date. Madysen told him she had church that day, but could do something afterward. Brandon didn’t miss a beat he said, “I’ll pick you up and go with you.” They went to 1910 Church together (which is still their church home today). It was the end of COVID, and during the service, the pastor asked everyone to grab a neighbor’s hand in prayer. (Cue divine timing.) Madysen was a nervous wreck and had the sweatiest hands but Brandon held hers like it was no big deal. After church, they went to The Rustic for lunch, and what started as a Sunday outing quickly became something so much more. From that day forward, they were inseparable and the rest, as they say, is just the beginning.
