We ran into each other (literally) rushing home from school one day at Council Rock North. It was a total stroke of luck; we were in different grades, different classes, and had different friend groups. Our shared interests in games and pop culture kept us in touch, and the rest is history!
We first moved in together in Atlanta after moving there for graduate school and real-estate accounting. Soon, we had two kittens, Amity and Aerith, that joined us! We spent our days enjoying the amazing Atlanta food scene and hanging out with our friends.
We headed back north to Boston with our cats and settled in, closer to where we grew up and in much cooler weather. We've been enjoying our time exploring the new city and are so excited for what's to come. Brandon currently works at Harvard as a Post-Doctoral Researcher, and Leah works at Stag Industrial as a Property Accountant.
In Atlanta, we adopted 2 kittens named Aerith and Amity. Aerith is a 5 year old medium hair cat. Amity is a 3 year old siamese mix cat. Their Story: Aerith was abandoned outside a veterinary facility. The vet took her in and nursed her back to health. Half a year later, Brandon adopted her, and she now lives happily at home in our apartment. Her best skills are watching over us and taking cat naps. Aerith acts like the queen of the household, and makes sure events follow her expectations. The biggest challenge for her is keeping up with her younger sister. Amity was found as a stray with a gash on her leg. A rescue group captured her and brought her to a vet for surgery. A few months later, Leah and Brandon adopted her. Now she lives happily in the apartment with her best friend and big sister, Aerith. Her best skills are making sure we feed her exactly at meal time and making us laugh with her goofiness. Unfortunately, in January 2026, Amity was diagnosed with a rare genetic disease called Myasthenia Gravis. This autoimmune disorder weakens the communication between the nerves and muscles. This causes the muscles to feel extremely weak to the point where she couldn't walk. While there isn't a cure, luckily there is medication for the disease. Brandon and Leah have to give her a liquid 3 times daily. With this, she is able to live a normal active life. Ever since this incident, we came up with 2 nicknames for Amity. Besides Amity, we also call her "Our Brave Little Toaster" and "Our Marshmallow Girl" since she enjoys the taste of her marshmallow-flavored liquid medication.
