Our Story (Laney's Version)

A loved one recently told me that the key to a successful marriage is marrying your best friend, the person you always want to be around, and who makes you happy. As much as I would love to go on and on about how our connection was truly a love at first sight story, the day we met was my first weekend of college freshman year. I’ll let you take that as you will. It could have been the responsible man holding my hair back Halloween night that sealed the deal, but I truly believe it may have been the camouflage boots and waders or the spark I see in his eyes every time a duck flies by. All kidding aside, I have never been more excited to spend the rest of my life with my soulmate. Brandon and I have been pretty much inseparable since we met my freshman year of college. We bonded over our mutual love for sports (maybe mine more than his), our drive to be successful, our competitiveness, and the immense love we shared for the people close to us. We are each other’s number one fans, we push each other to be the best versions of ourselves, and most importantly we are best friends. Every relationship has their ups and downs and ours is no exception but we have and always will stick by each other’s side. I can’t wait for a lifetime of travel, adventures, wine nights and gym dates with my person and we can’t wait to celebrate our love with the people who have been there with us along the way!

Our Story (Brandon's Version)

It’s hard to follow Laney’s writing, but I will do my best not to be repetitive.  Deciding to continue my lacrosse career at High Point University was one of the best decisions of my life which ultimately led me to the love of my life.  Asking Laney to spend the rest of her life with me however is definitely the top!  My mother told me going into my sophomore year of college I was going to meet the love of my life, just as she and my dad did.  After meeting Laney that year I knew she was the one.  We “hung out” many times before we started “dating” (I guess I am slow to pull the trigger).  Laney said it may have been when I held her hair back after a night of partying for Halloween, or my obsession with duck hunting, that sealed the deal for her, but watching her dancing on top of a table chugging vodka is what sealed the deal for me.  In all seriousness though, It was her drive to be the best in every aspect of life, her determination to never lose, and her love for family and those close to us that I love the most about her.  Our competitive nature that we both share was surely the connection.  Needless to say, Laney and I have experienced many journeys the last 5-1/2 years, but it is definitely just the beginning to something special.  I love Laney more than anything and will always be there for her.  November 5th cannot get here soon enough for me to say “I DO” so we can start the rest of our lives together.   We cannot wait for all of you to join in and celebrate with us.  We will see you in November!

For all the days along the way
