Brandon and Kaylee's very first date was at the bowling alley in Bellefontaine, TP Lanes. They were surrounded by close friends and lots of laughter. Not long after, Brandon showed up with a bouquet of flowers and asked Kaylee to be his girlfriend… and of course, she said yes.
When high school ended early due to COVID, their journey took them in different directions — Kaylee to Ohio Northern and Brandon to basic training, followed by a year-long deployment to Arizona. Even through the distance, they stayed close with letters, FaceTime calls, and countless texts, proving that love really does conquer miles.
Brandon had the ring in his possession for months before finally popping the question. Leading up to the big day, he asked Kaylee’s mom and brother for their blessing while she was working at Hurley Farms — making sure every detail was just right. To celebrate their five-year anniversary, the two spent the day in Columbus visiting the Titanic exhibit at COSI, playing Topgolf, enjoying breakfast and lunch together, and even wandering around IKEA (and maybe getting a little lost) to buy some extra time. All day long, Brandon had the ring with him — and Kaylee had absolutely no idea. On the way home, Brandon casually suggested making a quick stop at Camp Myeerah. Of course, she said yes. As they walked down by the water, Brandon got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Through happy tears, she said yes to forever. Moments later, she realized her closest friends were hidden in the trees capturing the surprise, with both of their families waiting nearby to celebrate. It was a perfect ending to the sweetest day — and the beginning of their forever.
