(Jayda) We have known each other since junior high, but weren't really friends until senior year. I got voted onto the homecoming court and desperately needed an escort. Brandon sat next to me in physics and I had about a half an hour until I had to tell them who was escorting me, so I decided to ask him. That was the very beginning, little did I know that cute boy sitting next to me in physics class would one day become my husband. A few weeks after homecoming Brandon asked me out on a date, and of course I said yes! I have to be honest and say it was not the best date in the world, therefore we did not become a couple that night. But, as time went on I started to really like him! He was funny, sweet, and attractive, so October 14, 2015 I agreed to be his girlfriend. I warned him that I break up with people, but he wanted to take the risk and praise the Lord that he did! The next couple months I started falling in love with him. On Christmas that same year he told me he loved me and I responded with "I'm crazy because I love you too!". That spring I got to watch him grow in the Lord and become the man I have always dreamed of marrying. In July, Brandon got baptized, one of the best days of both of our lives. I have known since July 3, 2016 that I wanted to marry him. So when he proposed this last November, it was an absolute no brainer, YES!!!!!!! I cannot wait for our love to grow and for God to show us his plans for our lives together starting December 15th!
(Brandon) I started planning the proposal a little while after I bought the ring, and I wanted to plan something that would be special for both of us and could be accomplished without too big of a hassle. That last part proved to be difficult, but it finally came together. I had this vision in my head to go to an overlook at a natural area a couple of hours away and propose as the sun rose over the hills. In my head this seemed very easy and beautiful, but when the planning started it had it's challenges. First, her brother, Chad, ended up doing the photography and it was great, but getting him there was a struggle. At first, he could not make it due to a prior commitment, then after he decided to come he could not find the place where I wanted to do the proposal. Then when we got there, he was still in the parking lot trying to find the place. This is all funny now, but it was super stressful at the time. We somehow made it out of that parking lot, and Chad followed behind without Jayda knowing. After we finally got to the overlook, it was just as I imagined. The landscape was amazing and the sun was just starting to rise. So the only thing left to do was get down on one knee. The day all in all went pretty perfect and I would not change anything about it. That day was one of the happiest of my life, and I know it was just the beginning of the happy moments that we will share together.
