The Setting: Outdoors on the Paramount Pictures Studios lot in late August 2014. It was about 94F and there was no shade. The Characters: Eva and Brandon, two strangers, working the event. The Story: Brandon, working as a chef for a sponsored restaurant, was serving up crispy oysters with bacon pepper jam & carrot cake with bourbon carmel. Eva was working for a serving company and was dressed as a soccer mom complete with black clogs, khaki pants and a black festival polo shirt (which she still has), tucked into her pants. Don't forget the all-too-sexy red "Budweiser" baseball cap she had on! As a kitchen runner, it was Eva's job to continuously check on the chefs in her section. Brandon offered her an oyster to which Eva replied, "Eww. Gross!!" Shot down, but not disheartened, he offered her carrot cake. When Brandon asked how it was, Eva accidentally insulted the carrot cake and then fully backtracked, admitting that she worked at a bakery and loved THEIR cream cheese frosting. Brandon thought she was a cake snob and Eva thought he was a terrible baker. Eva is still adamant that the carrot cake was bad. As the event wrapped up, he walked around the festival looking for her, only to find her nowhere in sight. Having returned to his tent, he told his chef he couldn't find her and went back to breaking down the kitchen. His chef scoured the area, found her and told her she was needed back at the tent. A few minutes later, his chef called him over and said, "Brandon, I found her." (Thanks, Logan) Eva magically appeared only to find awkward silence. That didn't stop Brandon and he asked for her number. And that is how we started the best journey of our lives.
