We are getting married!

Brandon arrived at a friend's apartment before a Cinco de Mayo party and was introduced to a group of friends. When he met me and learned that I was from Brazil, I recall him saying something along the lines of, "Portuguese, that's a romance language." Not the best opening line, but luckily an eager friend took matters into his own hands and gave us the courage we needed to speak to each other again. He told Brandon: "she thinks you're cute, dude" - moments after telling me the same thing! Filled with newly found confidence, we finally struck a conversation and the rest of the night was unforgettable. We danced and sang and at the end of the night, Brandon invited me on our first date!

We were celebrating spring break in Eleuthera, a small island in the Bahamas. There, as we watched the sunset alone on a private beach, after opening a bottle of our favorite champagne, he told me that "forever" had a whole new meaning. He went down on one knee and I said "yes" between tears of joy. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Brazil!
