Miles of sand beach, bluffs that tower 450’ above Lake Michigan, lush forests, clear inland lakes, unique flora and fauna make up the natural world of Sleeping Bear Dunes. High dunes afford spectacular views across the lake. An island lighthouse, US Life-Saving Service stations, coastal villages, and picturesque farmsteads reflect the park’s rich maritime, agricultural, and recreational history. About 3 hours north of Saugatuck.
Been in operation since 1838 and claims to be the only chain ferry still in operation in the US! The Saugatuck Chain Ferry is a hand-cranked chain ferry that crosses the Kalamazoo River in Saugatuck, Michigan. It connects downtown Saugatuck to Mount Baldhead Park and Oval Beach
This place is SO COOL! Right on Kalamazoo River. There is food and drinks and AMAZING retro restored river boats. Brandon and I are actually renting one of these for a photo shoot and stroll on the river on October 4th! Very exciting and a fun activity
