We met in Geology Class at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Instead of studying rocks, Brandon was studying me little did I know. Brandon, myself, and 3 others formed a study group that would help us pass the class. Of course, there was barely any studying happening. The group would laugh and talk about everything besides geology. Brandon and I formed a bond then, and here we are, preparing for marriage.
Mardi Gras weekend was upon us and I was ready to show my family that was visiting a good time. It was also the weekend of the Super Bowl. Unbeknownst to me, Brandon notified my family ahead of time to tell them that he was going to propose to me. We went to Mardi Gras parades earlier that day and he made dinner reservations for our families for 7 pm at Landry's Seafood on the Lake. After Dinner, my mom "supposedly" wanted to see the Lakefront since she doesn't live in New Orleans. I must admit, i was a bit agitated because it was freezing outside. Everyone was outside at the Lakefront, and then all of a sudden, I hear this melodic voice. I turned around, and there was Brandon and a singer walking towards us. I was in complete shock and kept saying, "what is this, what is this." The guy was singing Stay with You by John Legend. Brandon handed me a bouquet of roses and popped the question. Of course I said YES!
