It all started with a hypothetical question... September 1, 2025 - Brylie texted Brandon. "If I were to kidnap you for 6-8 hours, including drive time, and force you to go on an adventure, on a scale of 1-10, how willing would you be to participate? 1 = Inconceivable, 10 = As You Wish!" Brandon took his time responding—30 minutes. He texted back, "I'd say around an 8." THE PLANNING BEGAN! A road trip to Conway, which would include a hike, a picnic, walking around a park, and playing cornhole-golf. BUT FIRST, a pre-kidnapping had to take place. On September 13, 2025, at 3:40 PM, Brylie pulled up to Brandon's house, and to her surprise, he was very willing to be kidnapped. In fact, he filled her car with gas, bought them snacks, and paid for ice cream. Brandon joked that those were the rules of kidnapping and that when she kidnapped him, she should know he would fund every one of their adventures. Brylie wasn't so sure about that; it sounded less like a kidnapping and more like a date. They went to Walmart, where Brylie picked up her Simply Crunchy Cheetos, and Brandon got his Trail Mix (which Bry referred to as M&M's with obstacles). Their next stop was 5 Below, where Brandon found the perfect birthday gift for Brayden. Back on the road, they headed to Paradise Ice Cream, where they sat and chatted for a bit about work and school. Next, they went to the fairgrounds to join some friends and family in watching some lawn mower races that were very overhyped. After the races, Brandon and Brylie took a walk on the college trails. As it got dark, they continued walking until they stopped to sit and stargaze. A few hours later, after having honest conversations and moments of comfortable silence, they headed home about 10 pm. Six days later, Brandon asked Scott for permission to court Brylie. September 19, 2025 - Brandon and Brylie officially started courting! Looking back on that day under the stars: Brandon said, "In my mind, that was our first date because that’s when I knew I was going to marry her." Brylie said, "I knew I loved him, but as we stargazed that night and I got to know him better, it became 100% clear that I was going to marry him one day! It became a date the second he put fuel in my car."

November 22nd, 2025 - Brandon picked Brylie up from her house at 1pm, they drove through McDonalds for Chicken Nuggets and headed to the park to walk the trails. After a wonderful walk in the sprinkling rain, they drove to Norfork for dinner at Whispering Woods. Brandon got the Walleye with Sweet Potatoes and Brylie got a Pretzel with Beer Cheese, they watched the sunset over the lake from the restaurant and then headed out for one last adventure. At the Quarry Pavillion overlooking Norfork Dam, Brandon gifted Brylie with a Bible. Engraved on the front cover was her name with his last name. He got down on his knee and asked Brylie if she would marry him. Brylie said YES! (Then she started throwing up, but thats a story for another day....)
