As students at the University of Minnesota in January of 2020, Brandon and Anne both enrolled to go on a study abroad trip to London, England over their spring break. Prior to the trip, they had a weekly class preparing for the study abroad trip. They even completed a group project together, which is ironically how they found out that they were from the same hometown area of St. Cloud; Anne from St. Augusta and Brandon from Sartell. It wasn't until they were in London that they started talking more and the sparks began to fly. Unfortunately, the trip was cut short due to the COVID pandemic and their study abroad group was on the last flight landing in Minneapolis before everything shut down. Back in Minnesota, they both stayed with their parents during the early part of the lockdown and continued to text often. After days of begging, both sets of parents allowed the couple to go on a date with the promise of using hand sanitizer. Their COVID dates consisted of Brandon teaching Anne tennis and lots of picnics at the local parks. Brandon would even drive from the cities once a week to go on dates with Anne when he needed to return to his apartment. One month into their official relationship, they told each other "I love you". Fast forward 4 years later, they are more in love and Anne is still learning to play tennis. August of 2023, after Anne's white coat ceremony for Physical Therapy, Brandon took them on a trip to Colorado Springs, Colorado to hike Pikes Peak. The day before the big hike, Brandon took Anne to Garden of the Gods and convinced her to wear a dress rather than biker shorts. Little did she know he had a photographer following them around and he would get down on one knee to ask her to marry him. It was the quickest, easiest and tear filled "yes" yet! The past four years have been eventful for the couple; from Brandon graduating with his Master's Degree and changing jobs to Anne graduating from Physical Therapy school, passing state boards and starting her full-time job but they could not be more excited for their future together as husband and wife.
