The Bride: Anna Anita Moore is from Union City, TN. While growing up Anna was very involved in her hometown; she graduated top 10 in Union City High School’s Class of 2012; and was named Homecoming Queen for Football Court and Basketball Court among many other accomplishments. Anna graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelors in Science in Mathematics. She also received her Masters degree at Lipscomb University studying Leadership and Public Service and North Carolina A&T State University studying Industrial & Systems Engineering. Anna is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. The Groom: Brandon Edward Johnson Carter, was born and raised in Memphis, TN. As a child Brandon found his love for sports and art; which eventually lead to him being accepted into Overton High School’s Creative and Performing Arts Program. From there Brandon would attend Middle Tennessee State University, where he would earn his Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a double minor in General Science and Human & Health Performance. Brandon also earned his Juris Doctor Degree from Howard University School of Law in Washington, DC and now practices as an attorney at an international law firm in Atlanta, GA.

Our Story: Anna and Brandon met through mutual friends as undergraduates at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) during the Fall of 2013. The two have been writing their love story ever since. Anna and Brandon had their first date at Jefferson’s, which was a popular hot wing restaurant (one of Brandon’s favorite foods) near MTSU. From there Brandon and Anna would officially begin dating, after months of getting to know each other. The two would continue to date during their entire time at MTSU, while also excelling academically and socially. Brandon credits Anna with inspiring him to stay focused on his academics (he used to skip class a lot lol), and is thankful that she was so supportive and patient with him as he matured and took on campus leadership roles. During college Anna would become a member of Alpha Kappa Aloha Sorority, Inc., and Brandon would become a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. After years of hard work and studying, the two would ultimately graduate college on the same day. Following graduation Anna and Brandon stayed in the Middle Tennessee area and continued to grow together as they both entered the next chapter of their lives. After about a year, Anna returned home to Union City and Brandon returned home to Memphis. Each working and preparing to move out of state to further their education. Anna would go on to Greensboro, NC, where she would earn her second Masters degree from NCA&T, prior to joining Brandon in Washington, D.C. This decision to move only further confirmed what Brandon had known all along; which is that he had found the woman that he would spend the rest of his life with. The Proposal: Once Brandon began working as an attorney, he felt that he was finally in position to provide for Anna and give her the wedding that she deserved. With this in mind, Brandon felt that it was time to set a plan in motion to ask Anna (whom he knew he would marry for years now) for her hand in marriage. But first, he was sure to get the blessing of Anna’s father. Who luckily took a liking to Brandon over the years. With her father’s blessing all that was left to do is plan and execute a surprise proposal (Anna loves surprises). Brandon ultimately managed to plan a trip to Memphis, by telling Anna that they were attending a dinner party to celebrate his father’s birthday. Anna actually believed this so much that she stopped to buy him a gift on the way to the dinner (despite Brandon telling her she doesn’t need to) and was almost 30 minutes late lol. At dinner Brandon would make what appeared to be a toast to his father, which ultimately transitioned into his proposal to Anna. Lucky for Brandon, Anna excitedly answered “Yessss!” with no hesitation. Little did Anna know that was only the first half of the surprise. The two would then go to Brandon’s parents’ home,; where their family and friends would greet them to celebrate their engagement. Where We Are Now: Today, Anna and Brandon are happily engaged and are living in Marietta, GA, right outside of Atlanta. Anna continues to work remotely with her Virginia based company and Brandon works as a Capital Markets attorney in Atlanta, GA. The two plan to purchase their first home later this year; and look forward to celebrating there with each of you!
