They met at a very young age through their godmother, Sharon LaCount McKane (Brandon's aunt and Alyssa's mother's best friend). They lost touch when Alyssa had moved to Washington state with her family. Even though Alyssa made frequent visits to New Hampshire and saw Sharon during every visit, Alyssa and Brandon didn't ever get in touch until after they both commented on one of Sharon's facebook posts one day. They soon started talking on facebook, intermittently at first, then daily for almost a year. August 1st, 2015 when Alyssa came to make another visit, Brandon and Alyssa officially became a couple. Alyssa finished school in June of 2016 and moved back east the following October where she and Brandon continued to date and build upon their relationship, no longer having to travel 3,000 miles to see one another.
On January 25, 2018 Brandon was unexpectedly given half a day off and he knew that this was the moment he had been waiting for. He immediately began his quest to find the perfect ring. It didn't take long before he knew just what ring to use to make his proposal. From there, he immediately got things into motion knowing that tonight would be the night. After Alyssa got out of work they both got ready for their night out... to the gym. They excitedly partnered up for their mitt-focused boxing class and everything continued as normal. Chad, the coach, mentioned wanting to go over a couple more things involving technique and gathered the class around. He called Brandon over to help demonstrate, which was pretty typical. Then he called Alyssa over. Chad doesn't normally call over two people to demonstrate technique but since they had been partners that day, Alyssa thought that she and Brandon must have simply done something well and Chad wanted to showcase that.
As she and the others waited for Chad's instruction, Brandon started adjusting one of his handwraps... on one knee. Alyssa, oblivious to the fact that Brandon was on one knee (and to the fact that a couple people from the group were pulling out their phones and aiming them in their direction), wondered why Brandon would take the time to mess with and adjust his wraps now when there was only a couple minutes of instruction left and the class was waiting for what would be a short demonstration. Then Brandon pulled out a ring... Alyssa's face was still marked with confusion until it began to sink in that Brandon was holding a beautiful, three setting diamond ring in his hand and she heard him ask, "Will you be my training partner for life?" ❤ Alyssa, of course, happily said "yes." 💞💗💕
