Brandon and I had some mutual friends in high school, you could say we were friends I suppose. He says he thought I was cute back then but we know he's just trying to be sweet. We go our separate ways for years, until the day after Thanksgiving in 2021. It felt like I had known him for years, because well I had. We got stuck in the woods for a while that night thanks to the good ole truck. You really get to know someone when their steering column snaps right after they let you steer. The next day Brandon tried to fix his truck then slept the rest of the day. I thought that was it, he wasn't texting me because he did not have as much fun as I did. Little did I know how much this guy could sleep. And sleep some more. I woke up to a text that just said, "Yeah I fell asleep" true Brandon style. This was followed by an apology and then I suggested we go for a little hike. We both showed up prepared in our high top vans which I immediately thought was a sign of course. We hiked, we sat, we talked for a while, and then we got cold because it was the end of November. We walked back to the car, we weren't ready to go home yet so we grabbed some lunch at the Evergreen. 10/10 Bloody Mary if you were wondering. We still didn't want our date to be over so we made an impulsive decision to go to the beach until Brandon had to go to work that night. We listened to music, aka Brandon played me a bunch of music and asked me if I'd heard it. We talked about our past lives, our future goals, and everything in-between. Since then, we have gone on many more beach trips. Some even including Brixton, our high-maintenance diva of a dog. My favorite beach trip so far has to be our trip in March of 2024 when Brandon got down on one knee in front of the waves and asked me to marry him. I can't wait for many more beach trips, but even more, I can't wait to marry you Brandon Johnson!
