To our amazing friends and family: Due to the recent mandates, our wedding officiant, videographer, and photographer’s companies have informed us that we would be required to wear masks throughout the entire duration of our wedding. Along with that, our reception vendors have also informed us of having to reduce our guest list even further if we wanted to proceed as planned with the wedding reception. We had to consider the fact that we already had to downsize our original wedding once and came up with a virtual wedding as a plan B. Now that plan B won’t work, it’s time to move on to plan C. We want our special day to be remembered as a day full of happiness, smiles, laughter, and love with all of our family and friends. Therefore, it is with saddened hearts that we’ve decided to postpone our wedding celebration until government restrictions are lifted. This was a heartbreaking decision, but we want to make sure that our loved ones are comfortable and safe. When it comes right down to it, a marriage is a commitment between God and two people, and a wedding is a party that can be rescheduled, so that is the route we have decided to take. While we are currently looking at other states with less restrictions to host our wedding, it is a difficult challenge to plan the wedding of your dreams when you constantly keep getting told “no”. Things are changing rapidly and there are still many unknowns but we will be reaching out as soon as we know more. With that being said, the one thing that no one will ever change is how much we love each other and plan to be together forever. September 1st is still our special day, and the day we have decided to make us official, so stay tuned for pictures on how we will make this “One Hill of a Wedding” happen! We are eternally grateful for your patience and understanding. In the meantime, hug the people you love. Be safe, be well, and be prepared. God bless everyone.
Nevada has issued an emergency order requiring people in 12 of 17 counties — whether they're vaccinated or not — to wear masks in public indoor spaces. Starting at 12:01 a.m. Friday, the mandate becomes effective in counties with substantial or high transmission of COVID-19, according to a news release shared Tuesday afternoon. The Nevada Gaming Control Board, which regulates casinos, noted that Gov. Steve Sisolak's Emergency Directive 047 applies to all "employees, patrons, and guests." Nevada counties that will be impacted: Carson, Churchill, Clark, Douglas, Elko, Esmeralda, Lincoln, Lyon, Mineral, Nye, Washoe and White Pine. We are saddened to announce the possible postponement of our livestream wedding celebration due to newly imposed COVID-19 restrictions. Brandon and I want to wait until masks aren't required during each moment of our celebration. We want our day and pictures to be memorable with smiling faces, while still following the guidelines to be allowed at these establishments. Please stay tuned for our decision in the coming week as to how we will proceed with this developing situation. Thank you for your understanding.
We unexpectedly met at work when Brandon got transferred to my location, and instantly became friends. One evening after work, we went to Whataburger and lost track of time while we talked about life. We talked about how we grew up, triumphs, hardships, and where we each saw our lives going. We connected on so many levels throughout our conversation, and that was when we knew that our friendship was something special. We’ve been inseparable ever since.
One weekend, Brandon brought me to his family ranch for Gonzales’s yearly Christmas festival. It was my favorite time of year, at his favorite place on earth. He drove us to town square that night where we walked around and admired the Christmas lights and music all around us. He seemed very nervous the entire night, but it all made sense when he got down on one knee in front of the big Christmas tree in the middle of town square. Of course, I said yes.
