How did we meet?
Answer
We met online - modern love, right? But our second date was actually our first real one. We walked around Brookfield Square window shopping, shared a Cinnabon, and just talked. Afterwards, we went walking on a short trail. It was simple, sweet, and something about it felt easy and natural. That’s when we knew we wanted to spend more time getting to know each other.
Question
How did the proposal happen?
Answer
On January 13, 2024, the day after a crazy snowstorm, we drove (very slowly) to Cheesecake Factory for lunch. Afterward, Brandon suggested we stop in Waukesha to “run an errand,” but instead, we ended up on a snowy walk along the Fox River. We set up a phone to take a video (so we could screenshot pictures later) and before Simone got to end the video, Brandon was down on one knee.
Question
How do we balance each other out?
Answer
Simple: Brandon is the brains, and Simone is the heart. Brandon can crunch numbers for just about anything (hence the obsession with algorithms). Simone cares a little too much about everything (hence the seven cats). Together, we -usually- make decisions that are smart and full of love.
Question
What are we most excited for in the future?
Answer
We’re excited to move into a house and have a little more space and freedom. It feels like the beginning of a new chapter. We’re figuring things out together, building our life side by side, and navigating whatever comes our way. And of course… getting used to a new last name!
