It was Father's Day. The words were planned and practiced until my head hurt. The drive was the longest and most exciting, nerve-racking, happy drive of my life. We finally arrived to a house full of family with a warm welcome. I knew what I wanted to do, how I wanted to, what day but not exactly when. When I couldn't hold the secret any longer, I called everyone together to celebrate the Fathers (as a cover-up). I called Katie up to hold the present. Confused - she finally rose and walked over to me. And before my knee hit the ground..... All my emotions, memories, flashbacks of my life hit all at once with a powerful force like I've never felt. I had practiced the 3 sentences hundreds of time but now...now...I was literally speechless. I could not get a word out as much as I tried. I opened the small box and a speechless, engageless Katie now understood that powerful force and confirmed that she wanted us to spend the rest of our lives together with a nod. The crowd sat speechless..waiting for a "yes" but it was evident that she wanted to marry me as she accepted the ring. I picked her up to kiss her and that is when the first day of the rest of our lives together began..... - BT86
