We met through mutual friends in 2014 at Riverbend High School, where Brandon was a junior and Hanna was a sophomore. Our connection was instant, and we began dating shortly after. High school relationships are often filled with firsts—first dances, first dates, and shared experiences that can last a lifetime. For us, it was the beginning of something truly special. After graduation, Brandon went on to attend Hampden-Sydney College while Hanna finished her senior year at Riverbend. After Hanna graduated, she went to James Madison University. Though we were 2 hours apart for over 4 years, we always made our relationship a priority. Hanna made regular visits to H-SC, cheering on Brandon at swim meets, attending tailgates and football games, and going to Pi Kappa Alpha date parties. Meanwhile, Brandon spent weekends visiting Hanna at JMU, where we enjoyed football games, dinner dates, and scenic hikes in the Shenandoah Valley. When Brandon graduated from H-SC, he moved to Richmond, VA for his first job as an insurance underwriter while Hanna finished her senior year at JMU. During the pandemic, Brandon adopted a black lab puppy named Tucker, who kept him very busy and brought so much joy into his life. Once Hanna graduated, she moved back to Fredericksburg, VA to work at Mary Washington Hospital. Not long after, she adopted an orange tabby kitten named Penelope, and we continued to make many weekend trips to visit each other over the next couple of years. In 2023, we decided it was time to take the next big step. We bought a home in Midlothian, VA, and moved in together. Soon after, Hanna began nursing school, and Brandon started a new remote position as a senior insurance underwriter. Then, on February 10th, 2024, after 10 wonderful years together, Brandon proposed to Hanna at Early Mountain Winery. The proposal was followed by a surprise engagement party with our closest friends and family, making it an unforgettable day. Now, we spend most of our time at home with our beloved pets, taking Tucker for walks at the park, going to CrossFit together, and planning our wedding!
