Elkhart Lake
Elkhart Lake is home to Road America - and so much more. It turns into somewhat of a resort town in the summer. As a short 10 minute drive from Kiel, it's a must hit spot. If you have time to spare, we recommend the following: The Tiki Bar - Lakeside lounge experience Farmer's Market - Only available Saturday morning Fireman's Park - Beach access Lake Street Cafe - Visit where we had one of our first dates (And a great coffee, brew, and food bopping around spot. Kohler-Andrae State Park
Hike the beautiful dunes and Lake Michigan shore of Kohler-Andrae State Park. At 34 minutes away from Kiel, it's a little bit more of a hike, but worth it if you're craving a beautiful view. Then, pop over to Kohler or Sheboygan and check out all of the fun options they have to offer. Another favorite of ours and where we spent our second date (surprise, surprise: It was a photoshoot date).
Sheboygan
Lastly, we'd be remised if we didn't mention the freshwater surfing capital of the Midwest: Sheboygan. Here are a few of our favorite spots: Umi's - Sushi restaurant Harry's Prohibition - Lakeside restaurant 3 Sheeps - Brewery Field to Fork - A brunch restaurant but anything on 8th Street is good Weather Center Cafe - Coffee shop Blue Harbor - Water park and resort Even just walking up to the lighthouses is cute and fun! With a little over 20 minute drive from Kiel, it's a great way to make the most of your time.
