Brandie and Cameron first met through a mutual friend on October 1st, 2021. What started as a casual introduction quickly turned into something special. Brandie invited Cameron to her birthday brunch which was occurring three days later. Cameron joked that he’d only come if she texted him the next day, and in response she said, "How can I text you if I don't have your number???". You can probably assume what happened from there... On October 7th, they had their first official date. Whether it was the effortless conversation, shared humor, or the feeling that they'd known each other much longer than they had, something just clicked.

Cameron asked Brandie to be his girlfriend on January 30th, 2022—and (of course!!!) she said yes. After all, she may or may not have dropped a few hints in the months leading up to it. If you ask Cameron, he’ll say he thought they were already official. But hey… if he never actually asked, what date would they have put on the wedding website? ;-)

After a wonderful week in the south of France, they had just landed in Paris. As usual, Brandie was ready to hit the ground running and start exploring the city—and, coincidentally, Cameron was just as eager. Earlier a friend had casually texted Brandie, suggesting a visit to the Luxembourg Gardens where there was supposed to be a fun New Year’s Eve celebration (this was a lie). As they were making their way there, Cameron was subtly "texting his dad"—but in reality, he was coordinating with one of Brandie’s friends, whom he had secretly flown out to Paris to capture the proposal. When they arrived at the Jardin Marco Polo, a quiet spot tucked just beside the main gardens, Cameron got down on one knee. After heartfelt words from Cameron (which neither of them can now fully remember), it took Brandie only a few seconds to say “yes” to forever with him.

Despite a series of hiccups—including Brandie getting food poisoning from escargot the night before, the main section of the Luxembourg Gardens being closed when they arrived, Cameron losing cell service while coordinating with their secret proposal photographer, and the near-freezing temperatures—the moment couldn’t have been more perfect. Cameron proposed in the Jardin Marco Polo, in front of the Fontaine des Quatre-Parties-du-Monde (Fountain of the Four Parts of the World). The sculpture features four women representing the cardinal points (Europe, Asia, Africa and America), holding a celestial sphere above their heads—a fitting backdrop for the moment. Given Brandie’s love for travel and the fact that this was the couple's first international trip together, it felt like it was always meant to be.
