Years before their first date, Zack sent an "accidental friend request" to Brandi on facebook. After a couple of years of liking each others posts, Brandi "thought she passed someone on the road that looked like" Zack and slid into his DM's to tell him about it. From there, they decided to go on their first date in May of 2022. After a couple more dates, a couple more months, and some light facebook stalking, they were officially together on July 19, 2022.

After a year of dating, conversations turned to when Brandi and Zack were going to move in together. The original plan was to wait until 2024, when Zack would move in with Brandi in Medina and they would look for a new house from there. However, a full year before they had planned to move in together, the exact type of house that they had talked about went up for sale. Brandi went to look at the property and fell in love. After a month of conversations and reminders that it was still for sale, Zack agreed that they could make an offer. A few months later, and after Brandi and Zack both sold their houses, it was move in day on October 16, 2023.

Six months after move in day, it was time for vacation. The destination was Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and the entire family was excited for some R&R. Zack, and Brandi's daughter Caydence, who helped with planning, were excited for more than just the vacation, though. Their first morning there, Brandi was out on their condos balcony, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, watching the sunrise. Zack got out of bed, went and got Caydence, and Brandi's son Brayden, and brought them out to the balcony for a surprise. After asking both kids how they would feel if Brandi and Zack got married, Zack got down on one knee, and offered up a ring. She said yes on April 18, 2024.
