Things To Do

We're so excited to share some of our favorite places in New Orleans with you. While most of our recommendations are in the French Quarter, the Garden District is another beautiful part of the city that we love to explore. Getting to the Garden District from the French Quarter is quick via streetcar.

Royal House Oyster Bar

441 Royal Street, New Orleans, LA 70130
, 504-528-2601

One of our favorite places to eat in New Orleans, especially for a date night.

French Truck Coffee

217 Chartres Street, New Orleans, LA 70130

Our favorite spot to grab coffee and a quick croissant before exploring the city. They have multiple locations.

Sylvain

625 Chartres Street, New Orleans, LA 70130

We stumbled across Sylvain while wandering around the French Quarter one day. We love enjoying a drink in their back courtyard.

Cafe Beignet, Royal Street

334 Royal Street, New Orleans, LA 70130

Go to Cafe du Monde for the photo op, and go to Cafe Beignet for the food. Brandi's favorite are the beignet's with chocolate sauce. They have multiple locations.

Parkway Bakery & Tavern

538 Hagan Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70119

"The best poboys in town." - Mike Privitt, poboy connoisseur

Fiery Crab Seafood Restaurant And Bar

925 Common Street, New Orleans, LA 70112

Our first meal in New Orleans is usually a sea food boil, and this is our favorite place to go!

Molly's on the Market

1107 Decatur Street, New Orleans, LA 70116

For the girls that watch the Bachelor. The frozen Irish coffee is worth the hype! Molly's is located right by Jackson Square.

Jackson Square

Decatur Street, New Orleans, LA 70116

Located on Decatur Street, between the Jax Brewery Shopping Mall and the French Market (definitely check out their vendors/food), in front of the St. Louis Cathedral you’ll find Jackson Square. We highly recommend checking out the inside of St. Louis Cathedral - it's beautiful!

Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop Bar

941 Bourbon Street, New Orleans, LA 70116

The oldest bar in the United States and one of Mike's favorite spots.

Preservation Hall

726 Saint Peter, New Orleans, LA 70116

If you're a music lover like Mike, stopping by the Preservation Hall is a must. They play live music every night.

Marie Laveau's Tomb

1201-1253 Conti Street, New Orleans, LA 70112

Signing up for a tour of St. Louis Cemetery No. 1 to see Marie Leveau's tomb is totally worth it, if you ask Brandi. A ticket is required and tours start on every hour and half hour. The tour lasts 30 minutes. We do recommend taking an Uber or Lyft to this area instead of walking.

The National WWII Museum

945 Magazine Street, New Orleans, LA 70130

If you're excited to visit New Orleans for the rich history (and our wedding - duh), add The National WWII Museum to your list.

New Orleans School of Cooking

524 Saint Louis Street, New Orleans, LA 70130
, 504-525-2665

Signing up for a cooking class at the New Orleans School of Cooking is a fun way to learn about the history of New Orleans and enjoy a good meal. They offer open demonstration classes (we recommend) and hands-on classes. They also have a store if you want a souvenir to take home. The store is open for business 9am - 6pm Monday-Saturday and 9am - 4 pm on Sundays. We recommend booking on Viator's website or app.

New Orleans Ghost Adventures Tours

620 Decatur Street, New Orleans, LA 70130

One of Brandi's favorite activities in New Orleans. There are tons of options for ghost tours in the city. We recommend booking on Viator's website or app.
