Brandi and John first met through mutual friends in high school, but at the time, the connection never quite sparked. It wasn’t until college that their paths crossed again and everything changed. They became friends, hanging out occasionally, until casual meetups slowly turned into a routine. Lunch once a week became twice a week, which soon turned into every day. Somewhere between shared meals and binge watching love is blind, their bond deepened. On March 13, 2020—just days before the world shut down due to COVID—John officially asked Brandi to be his girlfriend. Even as everything else felt uncertain, their relationship only grew stronger. Not long after, Brandi was accepted into PT school in Philadelphia, and the two began a long-distance relationship. For two years, they navigated life apart, proving that distance had nothing on what they were building together. When the time was right, John made the move to Philadelphia, and after Brandi graduated, they packed up and headed to Dallas, Texas, where they now call home. John popped the question back home in Charlotte, North Carolina, during what Brandi thought was an anniversary party for his grandparents. Instead, it turned into a surprise proposal—and an even bigger surprise engagement party. Surrounded by family and love, it was the perfect start to their next chapter. Now, they’re ready to begin the next chapter of their journey—and they’re so excited to share this special moment with you.
