We're getting married!

After a long search for Mrs. Right on the endless stream of potential dates on Match.com, Chris found a profile with a beautiful girl named Brandi who was a school teacher. There was a picture of her hiking in Singapore. Chris, being the extreme hiker he is, had to write and learn more about her. After countless hours of waiting for her reply, one finally came through. After what seemed to be days and weeks, they finally set up a time to meet in person and met at Yard House in Fashion Island. After a glass of wine and a great first date, Chris asked Brandi to go hiking for their second date in Newport Coast. They went on a 5-mile hike and never ran out of conversation and had a great lunch afterwards. It was a match (no pun intended) from the beginning.

It was the 4th of July and Chris and I didn't have much planned for the day other than watching the fireworks at the beach that evening. Earlier that afternoon, Chris suggested that we take a walk on the beach. Unbeknownst to me, he was thinking of proposing while on this walk. However, when Chris suggested bringing some water with us (which was his way of making it so that he could grab his backpack to carry the water--and the ring), I told him we didn't need to bring water, which meant Chris had no way to grab the ring and hide it. The plan was thwarted. Luckily, Chris had another plan! He decided to propose while on the beach waiting for the fireworks to start. Because we had planned to bring snacks and blankets, Chris was able to successfully hide the ring in his backpack this time. Once we arrived on the beach, we found a place to lay down our blanket and wait for the fireworks to begin. Before I knew it, Chris had grabbed a box out of his backpack and was on one knee. I went into shock and couldn't believe what was happening! It was truly the best 4th of July ever!
