Our Adventure begins

We first met in the golden days of college, at San Diego State University. Jon was in his junior year and Kailey was in her sophomore year. Soon thereafter, we became inseparable. We spent the next seven years growing together, learning life’s lessons and inspiring each other to be our best selves. Last year, we decided to take the trip of a lifetime with ten of our closest friends. We began our adventure in Spain, explored the areas of Italy, and topped it off with a celebration in Croatia. When we first stepped off the train in Venice, we could both sense the magic in the air. Soon after arriving, we checked into our hotel which was the size of our Santa Monica apartment. After a celebratory glass of champagne or two, we departed for the evening! We walked across the city to what Kailey thought was a Gondola ride. After passing what felt like every gondolier in Venice, we stopped at the tip of the city. We stood at the Dogana de Mar, where the Grand Canal meets the Giudecca Canal. The location showed off 180 degrees of Venice. A spectacular sight was the Saint Marco Campanile bell tower of St. Mark's Basillica just effortlessly floating in the background. This place in particular had resonated with Jon in a previous trip to Italy to visit his Sister. He knew then that this location was where he would someday propose. After breathing in this beautiful place together, a woman approached us and asked to take our photo. Jon knowingly handed her our only telephone. He then grabbed Kailey by the hands, got down on one knee, and asked her to marry him. It was perfection, to say the least. <3 Us
