We met at a local patio bar known for it's lively, Thursday night turtle racing! Yes, turtle racing. If you have ever lived in Houston you know exactly what we are talking about. After a couple cocktails, some flirty conversation and even some "dancing", Branden found the courage to ask me on a real date. A few days later we went to dinner and have been inseparable ever since.
After months of dropping Paris vacation hints, Branden surprised me with tickets on Christmas! Little did I know, there was much more in store for us there. He planned an entire day of walking tours around the city including Notre Dame, Arc de Triomphe, Sainte-Chapelle Chapel and the local macaroon shop. It was the perfect day, but it got even better! While I was laying on the bed jet-lagged and oblivious, he was anxiously getting ready for dinner. He told me he wanted to stop by my favorite bridge, Pont de Bir-Hakeim, for a few pictures before dinner. I nonchalantly got ready and out the door we went on another adventure. I could tell something was up, but honestly thought he had a stomach bug since he was sweating so bad. As we got to the bridge I felt his grip tighten and kept asking "what is wrong with you?". Classic Stephanie. As I turned around to get his answer, I found him on one knee looking up at me with a ring. I screamed "yes" and went into complete shock. He even lined up a photographer to capture the entire moment and take additional shots on my favorite bridge. We ended the night with champagne and dinner on a boat traveling up and down the Seine. It was the most incredible day of my life.
As many of you know, we have three furbabies of our own: Axle, Remington (aka Remi) and Levi. Axle was adopted a little over two years ago and has been the main man ever since. Ask any of our friends, he is more like a dog than a cat. He will greet you at the door, play fetch, enjoys walks and is an expert cuddler. Remi and Levi are two brother Black Mouth Cur/German Shepherd puppies that we rescued. After 1.5 years of volunteering we spotted these two nuts and knew that our lives would be changed forever. They bring so much joy to our lives and we wouldn't be the same without them!
