Orvieto lies between Florence and Rome, Rome approximately 1 hour away, and Florence is about 2 hours. Upon arriving, Orvieto can be reached by rail or automobile from both cities. For Train travel visit either https://www.italiarail.com/ or https://www.trenitalia.com/. The fares are very reasonable starting at $19.00 per person. From Orvieto Train Station to La Badia Provide your arrival time to debbiebaldini@gmail.com. We will coordinate a pick-up from the train station to your destination.

What are the Accommodations for the wedding?

We have reserved the entire property at La Badia for the wedding festivities, starting September 25th through September 27th for family and the bridal party. Not to worry for all other loved ones & friends! We are finalizing the availability for rooms at La Badia. Please check back as we will update the website with specifics. Please note for those staying at La Badia rooms have been reserved in your name. At check-out, only the evening of the 25th will be charged, as we would like you to be our guests the evening of the wedding September 26th. Check-out time is 11:00 on September 27th. If you arrive before the 25th or want to stay longer in Orvieto after the 27th, we have a list of highly recommended accommodations for you. TBA... Where will the wedding be held?

Answer

We will celebrate the wedding of Branden and Janelle in Orvieto, Italy. Orvieto is the ancient land of the Etruscans and lies on the main communication routes between Florence and Rome. A stunning medieval city, Orvieto rises above the surrounding countryside sitting on its perch of volcanic tufa. Far below lies vineyards and fields dotted with ancient villas and vineyards. The wedding festivities will take place at La Badia di Orvieto from September 25th through September 27th. La Badia is a Benedictine Abbey built in the 12th century. The roots of its life go deep into the past, when La Badia, once a place of worship and work, became a residence for cardinals and popes and now is a haven for hospitality. The religious ceremony will be held at the historic Cathedral & Museum Duomo di Orvieto at 2:00 PM on September 26th. The majestic Duomo was built in 1290 and took three hundred years to complete.
