Guest Expectations

What all guests need to know before the wedding.
Question

What do we expect, generally?

Answer

We want everyone to have a great time at the wedding. We hope you all have a blast, but we also hope you respect all the hard work that's been put into planning the wedding. Some ways you can show that respect: be responsible when it comes to handling decorations and participating in activities at both venues and spread kindness, not criticism.

Question

What should we wear?

Answer

Attire should be semi-formal.

Question

Who should get a plus one?

Answer

We would prefer that, if you've received a plus one, you bring your significant other. You can choose to not utilize your plus one, but if you plan to bring someone other than your significant other, we ask that you please contact us directly. We'd love to know who's attending our wedding. Whoever you choose to bring, please include their name on the RSVP. Thank you!

Question

What are the photograph and social media expectations?

Answer

We are having an unplugged ceremony. This means that we'd ask you to turn off your phones (or at least put them on silent) and put away all cameras/electronics during the service. We've chosen to do this because we want to see your faces not your phones, and we want you to be present while we're getting married. This is a very special day for us, and we want it to be treated as such. As for social media, we ask that you hold off on a few things. If you happen to see the bride or groom before the ceremony, we ask that you don't share any photos until after we've had the chance to see each other. We also ask that the photographer have the chance to take photos before you get your own. We encourage sharing your memories from this day, but we hope that you'll do so in a respectful way.

Question

What about children?

Answer

Our families are filled with lots of children, and we absolutely love that! We're so excited that they get to be a part of our wedding! All we ask is that they be careful since there will likely be plenty of glass and fragile items. We wouldn't want them to get hurt, so we ask that parents keep an eye on all children.

Question

Food and Drink?

Answer

Our venue has a policy that states no outside food or drinks can be on the venue grounds: either in the venue or in the parking lot. As such, we ask that no one brings any of their own food or drinks to the wedding. For more information visit the Food & Drinks page on our website.
