Julian and I met at a mutual friend's wedding on December 4th, 2021. I spotted a handsome man in a blue suit and black turtleneck and just HAD to know who he was. Upon asking the bride, I learned that he was a friend of hers from college. It wasn't too long after that conversation that I bumped into Julian at a table where guests were putting together glow stick glasses. He had picked up the last pair which he then offered to me and from there we began to chat...I guess that's where you could say the rest was history! We hit it off immediately and continued to talk in the days and weeks to come after that wedding. In February 2022, I visited him in Lubbock for the first time where we went our first date at Rave On at Buddy Holly Hall. It was a miracle I made it out of Dallas in the midst of Snowmageddon. March rolled around and Jules finally made his way back to Dallas. He met my family and made it official by asking me to be his girlfriend. Fast forward to July 2023...Julian made his way to Dallas for good! After countless flights and FaceTme dates, we finally said goodbye to long distance. It's been such a gift to continue to do life together in Dallas and now even sweeter to do it as fiancés. The Lord's timing has been perfect, and it's been so evident that His hand has been in each and every moment of our story.
It was a normal November morning (or so I thought) when my roommate knocked on my door to wake me up. I opened the door to find her standing there holding a pink envelope with a #1 on it...I immediately knew, it was THE day. Envelope #1 told me the rules for the day: no phones, no questions, and relax because Julian's got it all planned out...and boy did he! What followed was a day of complete pampering and time spent with some of my most beloved and cherished friends and family. Julian had planned a number of surprises including different stops and activities around town like coffee, the nail salon, lunch, blow outs, and shopping to prepare me for the big event to come. The day was perfect- he had thought of every. single. detail. The evening rolled around and I was given my last envelope which read "See you soon!" It was finally time!! After what felt like the longest drive ever, we arrived at my parents' property in Flower Mound where they are building their forever home. I got out of the car to find Julian waiting for me surrounded by string lights and candles. He asked me to marry him, and I said YES!! Julian has been the Lord's greatest gift to me. He's the man I've always hoped for, prayed for, and dreamed about. We're so excited for what's in store as we enter this new season together as Mr. & Mrs. Gonzalez!!!
