Brandon and Kirsten’s story began as friends at Southern Adventist University in 2019. They first crossed paths at the opening vespers of Smart Start, where Kirsten navigated her way through a crowd in search of fellow Filipinos. One of them happened to be Brandon. One of their earliest memories together was an adventurous cliff-jumping excursion—a fun way to bond with new friends. If you're lucky, you might still find Brandon’s vlog from that trip, where you can catch a glimpse of "baby" Brandon and Kirsten in their prime. As their friendship grew, Brandon and Kirsten found common ground in their shared passion for the Asian Club, where they both took on roles in organizing events. What they were most proud of, however, was their work on the memorable Asian Nights—a celebration of their culture and a space for others to experience the richness of the Asian community. Outside of their club activities, their connection deepened during nursing classes and the lunches they shared between lectures. As they approached the final semesters of nursing school, their bond blossomed into something more. Though their early relationship was marked by long-distance, their commitment to each other never wavered. Eventually, they reunited in Orlando, Florida—some might joke that Kirsten followed Brandon there, but she’ll always deny it. Finally, on August 2, 2024, Brandon made their love story even more unforgettable when he proposed during a trip to Hawaii on the island of Oahu.
