Imari and Allyson’s story is a beautiful picture of how God brings people together in His perfect timing. They first met in middle school but grew close during high school. It all started in Spanish class when Imari, who was on crutches at the time, asked Ally to carry his bags to his next class. That simple favor turned into daily conversations and laughter between classes. Their friendship deepened as they went through the ups and downs of high school, and by senior year, they became friends who could trust each other. After graduation, Imari convinced Ally to attend the University of Missouri, and the journalism school sealed the deal for her. Once on campus, they found themselves spending more and more time together sharing meals, studying side by side, and leaning on each other through the adjustments of college life. By the second semester of freshman year, their friendship had grown into something undeniable. They began committing to seeing each other often and officially started dating, marking the beginning of a relationship that would continue to grow stronger with time. That year became the foundation of their love story, one built on faith, friendship, and God’s quiet guidance. Together, they went to a Christian summer program in Alabama for a few months and learned to keep Him at the center of everything through prayer, worship, and by encouraging each other to pursue Christ first. Their relationship became a safe place to grow, to dream, and to honor the One who had written their story long before they realized it. Looking back now, Imari and Allyson can see how every moment prepared them for the life they are building together, a life shaped by grace, strengthened through prayer, and filled with love that reflects the heart of God.
