Multnomah Falls
Multnomah Falls, towering at 620 feet, is Oregon's tallest waterfall, featuring two tiers and a scenic bridge. It's a stunning natural landmark in the Columbia River Gorge, attracting visitors year-round. While it is the most stunning waterfall, it is not the only one in the area. Dozens of waterfalls can be seen from the Columbia River Highway. Make sure to stop along the road to better appreciate their beauty. P.S. this waterfall appeared in the Twilight movie and The Ring
Timberline Lodge
Timberline Lodge is a historic hotel renowned for its stunning architecture and breathtaking mountain views. The lodge is as a year-round destination for skiing, snowboarding, hiking, and exploring the natural beauty of the surrounding Cascade Mountains. Fun fact! Timberline Lodge served as a filming location for the iconic 1980 horror film, "The Shining." Although the movie is set in a fictional hotel, many of its exterior scenes were shot at there!
International Rose Test Garden
The International Rose Test Garden is a breathtaking garden dedicated to the cultivation and exhibition of rose varieties from around the world. Established in 1917, it features over 10,000 rose bushes, showcasing over 650 different types of roses. Visitors can stroll along fragrant pathways while enjoying stunning views of the Portland skyline and Mount Hood. The garden is a cherished destination for rose enthusiasts and a symbol of Portland’s reputation as the "City of Roses."
Pittock Mansion
The Pittock Mansion is a historic estate in Portland, Oregon, built in 1914 by newspaper magnate Henry Pittock. Designed in the French Renaissance style, the mansion features 22 rooms with exquisite architectural details and period furnishings. Today, it operates as a museum, showcasing the rich history of the Pittock family and offering stunning views of the city and surrounding landscapes, making it a beloved cultural landmark.
Lan Su Chinese Garden
Lan Su Chinese Garden is a stunning classical Chinese garden located in the heart of Portland, Oregon. Built in 2000, it was created by artisans from Suzhou, Portland's sister city, and features intricate pavilions, serene ponds, and lush plant life. The garden is designed to reflect harmony and balance, offering visitors a peaceful escape with its beautiful pathways and authentic Chinese architecture. There is also a lovely tea shop called the Teahouse. The Teahouse offers a variety of traditional Chinese teas, as well as light snacks and pastries. Visitors can enjoy a serene tea experience within the garden's beautiful surroundings, making it a perfect spot to relax and savor the flavors of authentic Chinese tea culture.
Powell's City of Books
Powell's City of Books is a renowned independent bookstore located in Portland, Oregon. Spanning an entire city block, it is the largest used and new bookstore in the world, boasting over a million books across various genres. Founded in 1971 by Walter Powell, the store features a unique color-coded system to help navigate its vast collection. Fun fact! Powell’s has a "Rare Book Room" that showcases valuable collectibles, including first editions and signed copies, making it a treasure trove for book lovers!

Sauvie Island
Sauvie Island, located just north of Portland, Oregon, is a charming rural escape known for its farms, berry picking, and scenic beauty. One of our favorite food cart pods! Lil’ America is a lively food cart pod, showcasing a diverse selection of cuisines from local vendors. It’s a great spot for food lovers to enjoy a variety of delicious dishes while experiencing the city’s vibrant food cart culture. It is also home to our favorite food cart of all, Fry Baby! Do yourself a favor and order their Korean fried chicken, your tastebuds will thank you!

Cartopia is another favorite food cart of ours known for its unique and diverse culinary offerings. From gourmet tacos and artisanal pizza to decadent desserts, you’re bound to find something you like here. With its inviting outdoor seating and vibrant atmosphere, Cartopia is a favorite destination for locals and visitors alike, making it a must-visit spot to experience Portland's renowned food cart scene.
Pearl District
The Pearl District in Portland, Oregon, is a trendy neighborhood known for its art, dining, and shopping. The Heist Bar & Food Carts
Another fantastic food cart pod to visit! The Heist is a fun bar in Portland where you can grab tasty craft beers and cocktails and enjoy food from nearby food carts. It’s a chill spot to hang out, grab a bite, and soak up the lively vibe with friends. Our favorite cart has to be Golden Triangle!
Vancouver Waterfront
Vancouver Waterfront Park is a scenic spot along the Columbia River in Vancouver, Washington. It’s great for walking, biking, or just chilling out with beautiful views of the river and Mount Hood. With green spaces, picnic areas, and nearby shops and eateries, it’s a perfect place to hang out and enjoy the outdoors. Oh! And keep an eye out for seals! Even though Vancouver, WA is miles away from the ocean, seals have been recorded swimming more than 100 miles inland.
Mount Saint Helens
Mount St. Helens is an iconic active volcano in Washington State, known for its major eruption in 1980. Even though it is a little over an hour away, on a clear day Mt St Helens can be seen from several viewpoints in Portland. If you want to enjoy a closer look and learn more about its fascinating history, take a drive to the Mt St Helens Visitor Center.
