Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Samantha Spata and Bryan Sexton
We're glad you asked! When we first met, I (Samantha) promised to show Bryan all of my favorite spots in town. Trips to these places became our first dates. Now, we are excited to share some of these with you!

Virginia Living Museum

524 J Clyde Morris Boulevard, Newport News, VA 23601

Hey, that's our venue! You have a free ticket to the Virginia Living Museum, which has exhibits of live critters native to Virginia. It is like an aquarium, but cooler.

The Noland Trail

The Noland Trail, Newport News, VA

The Nolan Trail is a short drive from our venue, and it is a beautiful 5-mile-long nature trail (mostly flat), featuring the great "Lion's Bridge" (which is accessible by car if preferred).

Yorktown Beach

594 Water Street, Yorktown, VA 23690

Yorktown Beach offers a wide range of attractions. It has historical sites from the Revolutionary War, sandy beaches, cute shops, and more.

City Center Boulevard

City Center Boulevard, Newport News, VA 23606

City Center has a few shops, breweries, and restaurants. It is known best for the large fountain at its center.

Fort Monroe

Hampton, VA

Fort Monroe is hard to explain, but it is well worth a visit. It is an old military fort surrounded by a moat, and surrounded again by the sea. Now open to the public, the fort itself is a historical landmark. Outside the fort (on busy port days) huge cargo ships, jets, and even submarines pass along.

Phoebus

Hampton, VA 23663

A small walkable strip near Fort Monroe. Many local businesses and restaurants, cute and artsy.
