Her Story

Sarah and Anthony met through Hinge in December of 2019, when she was in Chicago for neurology residency and he was working as an ID pharmacist. After connecting over messages about their shared desires to learn how to play "My Heart Will Go On" as children and favorite Asian foods in Chicago, they met for their first date at Jeni's. The rest is history! Sarah remembers feeling like after they first met, she couldn't wait to see him again, and that feeling just never went away. They continued to bond over cozy movie nights, couch co-op games, and road trip adventures. In September 2022, a road trip to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan would prove to be their most memorable one yet. During a hike along the beautiful Pictured Rocks lakeshore, they reached a picturesque overlook called Grand Portal Point. Sarah set up her phone on a tripod to take a picture, but Anthony secretly switched it to video so that it would be recording when he got down on one knee! After having a small City Hall ceremony in 2023, Sarah and Anthony are so excited to celebrate with their friends and family with the party they both have dreamed of!

His Story

It was a code stroke. I got into the elevator and there she was. Perfection personified. Our eyes met and I was completely lost in her gaze until the intern whispered if he should order antibiotics, just in case. Softly but firmly, she said, “no the patient does not have an infection.” I already knew she was the one. We walked toward the patient’s room together. I watched her, confident yet graceful, assess the situation before letting me know they plan to administer the life-saving medication. They say our eyes met again multiple times, but it was probably me being cross eyed attempting mental math to calculate the dose. The patient recovered immediately. Everyone clapped. She gave me the most lovely smile while I threw finger guns at her. The patient turned to us to express his thanks. His first coherent words were, “I may be a physicist but I’m feeling some chemistry here.” That patient’s name? Albert Einstein. Anyhow that’s what I’ll tell the kids was the beginning of the greatest love story, but we actually met on a dating app. She made a funny comment about our dessert and that was enough to trap me.
