What should I expect?

Welcome ALL to the most spectacular, spectacular event —our wedding celebration! We warmly welcome you to our soirée, where Moulin Rouge, Cabaret, Chicago, and Burlesque mash-up and meet to make up the wedding theme. Expect a bit of drama, drag queens, burlesque, musical magic, signature drinks, a portrait studio for all wedding guests, optional tarot readings, a whiskey tasting, and delectable small bites throughout the evening.

What's the venue and vibe like?
Answer
Step back in time to The Gatsby on Main in Shelbyville, Kentucky. From the gorgeous art-deco touches to the historic hardwood flooring, you’ll immediately feel the ✨razzle-dazzle✨ as you enter the first floor of the venue space. Cocktail hour will be held primarily in the first-floor entry space. Leading up to the reception/party time, we will usher folks to the upstairs lounge area to continue cocktail hour and take guest portraits.

We will be serving heavy appetizers throughout cocktail hour and reception. There will be both meat and veggie options as well as desserts! For our neurodivergent and/or anxious folks, feel free to look up KY Catering Co to browse some of our caterer's past work with elevated appetizers!

Venue Accessibility
Answer
This event will take place in two different levels of the same building. All guests may enter the main entrance of The Gatsby from the street side entrance on Main Street (wheelchair accessible entrance). When the time comes for folks to move upstairs, we will have a dedicated human to make an announcement and send everyone up to the next level via an elevator.

There is plenty of parking around and very near the venue but no dedicated lots (unfortunately). Below are a few parking options we've scouted for you: 1. Are children allowed?
Answer
Unless explicitly outlined/verified in your invitation, we ask that you refrain from bringing young children to this celebration. At the end of the day, this is a very ADULT-centric celebration with alcohol, performers, and likely explicit music playing.

Can I smoke?
Answer
The venue has a strict non-smoking policy that includes their AirBNB property just above the venue, anywhere within the venue, and the street just outside of the venue. As wedding vendors ourselves, we beg of you to smoke in your personal vehicle and/or bring nicotine patches/gum for the duration of our event.

Will there be assigned seats at the reception?
Answer
Yes! Please stop by the ticket booth, grab the ticket with your name on it, and look at your seating assignment. Tables will be kept small and will be seated in a semi-circle so everyone can comfortably view the main stage in the reception ballroom.
