It was a Friday afternoon and chamber choir had just finished after school. I was talking with some of my friends in the hallway afterwards and I saw this beautiful girl sitting down along some lockers reading a book. As soon as I left I immediately texted all of my friends asking who this mysterious girl was. That girl, will soon be my wife! After months of trying to figure out how I could meet her and talk to her, I got her friends to convince her to join a group of us to go ice skating on December 30, 2013. As she kept me from falling on the ice, we talked and talked, learning about each other’s families, hobbies, and faith. As time has gone on we continue to learn more and more about each other and my love for Lexie grows more everyday. Our day will soon be upon us my bride! -Brady I can't say that Friday afternoon was too much different from any others. Looking back, I can remember glancing up from my book and noticing a guy walk down the hallway. I could have never guessed how special he would soon be to me. The first time I met and talked with Brady was during a group ice skating trip. Our friends quickly made it obvious they were working on setting us up together. Although, Brady's ice skating skills also made it evident he would be in need pf my assistance anyway. As we skated around the rink, our conversations showed me that there was something different about him. In that moment I realized the friendship we had begun would continue to grow. Six years later, I can say that our friendship has grown into a love for Brady I could have never fully predicted. -Lexie
I was confident that I wanted to marry Lexie, so I had actually purchased the ring back in August of 2018. After it arrived I was playing the waiting game until the right day came along. It was a Monday afternoon and I was fortunate to have off work that day, so Lexie requested off as well and we went to Cunningham Falls State Park in Thurmont, Maryland. Cunningham Falls is a special place to us as we’ve gone there every year throughout our almost five years of dating. I was so nervous that morning! After I picked her up we then went out to lunch where I tried to eat as much as I could, but I could barely eat anything. We then arrived at the Falls, and about 5-10 minutes into the hike I told her we should take a break, and found a rock we could sit on. After resting for a minute, she stood up to continue moving forward and I knew it was the time. I grabbed the ring from my bag and called out her name. She turned around and looked at me, then at the box I was holding, then at me again and let out a soft, “Hi.” I then proceeded to get down on one knee and open the box, telling her that I loved her and wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. With her hand to her mouth, she nodded and said yes! -Brady I am often a very hard person to surprise. Brady sometimes has a hard time keeping surprises. After I ruined his first engagement idea, I must say he pulled off this one rather well! We had our date day to Cunningham Falls planned for quite a while. After just finishing a crazy spring semester, I couldn't wait for our day together. It had become a yearly trip, and I did not expect this one to be too different. We began with a lunch at Olive Garden (my favorite), where I gobbled down my meal and Brady seemed... a bit off. Later at the falls, our hike stopped for a short break. Before I knew it, Brady was down on one knee. I was speechless and so excited. I will never forget the smile on his face when he asked me. Dear, here's to a lifetime together. -Lexie
