Our Story

Our story begins in high school in 2016. We probably only talked a handful of times even though we had a few classes together, but someone never really showed up to class. The first time I really talked to him was in Mr. Barranca’s class. Coincidentally he was both of our favorite teacher, yet again someone was never in class. But I brought up this class because this was the first time we really ever talked. Brad sat behind me in class and would take naps on the days he came to class, so at some point I ended up becoming the person to keep him on track and giving him some answers. If you know Brad that’s not shocking at all. After we didn’t have that class any more was when Brad messaged me on social media. I say Facebook but Brad swears it was instagram. There isn’t too much that really happened throughout our talking stage other than it lasted a couple years. Getting into stupid arguments and stop talking. We were talking on and off from 2016 to 2019 when Brad decided he finally wanted to commit. At this point we didn’t really meet each other's family, I have two older brothers that loved to embarrass me. Meeting Brad's family I have anxiety meeting new people so it took me longer to go to his parents house. Eventually he started to hang out at my house. I knew I had to meet his family, so in 2019 Patti was doing a party, maybe Labor Day party I don’t remember exactly, but that is when I decided to meet his family and I did not know what I was getting myself into. There were his family including aunts and uncles, also some family friends. The joke that day was “how much did he pay you to be here?”. It had been so long of us talking and him saying he was talking to someone that they made the joke that I was fake. But look at us now going strong. Brad meeting my family wasn’t nearly as exciting. The most important part was him meeting my grandpa. I say that because my grandpa is most protective of me. If I had to ask my grandpa he would describe their first meeting as Brad being very respectful and kind. They have gotten so close that I now make the joke that Brad is now his favorite (We know that’s not true). If we now go over to my grandparents house I have to tell Brad we have to leave about 10 minutes before I actually want to leave because they will sit there and talk forever. Honestly it makes me so happy that they have gotten so close! Throughout the years I have been so grateful with how well I get along with Brad's family and him with mine. His family has taken me in and has made me feel just like I am a part of their family. With my family Brad has fit right in and everyone loves him. Jumping to 2023 we decided to make the jump and get our first house. We have been getting used to working together and splitting our space. We managed to get through the holidays learning how each of us like things. Luckily Brad likes decorating outside and I like decorating inside. As the holidays winded down and we were finally settled into our newest chapter in life Brad apparently was keeping a secret from me. On March 16th Brad asked if I wanted to go out to dinner with his sister Katie and her husband Ryan. Now this is pretty normal for us as we are pretty close with them. I was told that they couldn’t do dinner until later in the evening and Brad wanted to go fishing first at Brandenburg park. Now listen, it was cold and I was not dressed to be at a pier and I was cold! Unfortunately the pier was closed and we had settled next to it on a rock. So, Brad casted out a couple times and was like why don’t you do it a couple times. Truthfully I was a bit annoyed, cold, and just over it but I wanted to make him happy! So here I am cold but I cast the line out and brads behind me talking and said something along the lines of turn around and there he was on his knee! My reaction was “no no no, the fishing line” so I reel the line in and finally say yes to him! And here we are getting married October 11th 2025!
