Roger Williams Park is the largest park in Providence, and home to the botanical garden and zoo. It's a great destination for a walk or bike ride. On the morning of Saturday, September 13th they are holding their Yoga with Elephants event, which includes both the class and admission to the zoo for $40: https://www.rwpzoo.org/event/yoga-elephants-sept/
The pedestrian bridge and surrounding park are great places to hang out on a nice day -- Check out live music in the beer garden on Friday night, grab ice cream at Tizzy K's, or coffee at Dave's. This area is also walking distance from the RISD Museum, Brown, the shops and restaurants on Wickenden Street, and all of downtown.
Check out the Hope Street Farmers' Market in Lippitt Park on Saturday morning for produce, art, and other local vendors. You can also stroll the shops and restaurants on Hope Street, or the walking path on Blackstone Boulevard.
This bike path (Katie's favorite bike ride!) spans the 14.5 miles between Providence and Bristol. Some of our favorite stops along the way include: Borealis Coffee in Riverside, the Del's and other shops/restaurants in downtown Warren, Barrington Beach, the Audubon Society Nature Center, and Colt State Park (where the wedding will be). The path starts in India Point Park in Providence and ends in Independence Park in Bristol. If you don't want to bring your bike to RI, you could rent one from Dash in the West End: https://www.dashbicycle.com/
As many of you know, Bradly is an entrepreneur and founded the Providence Tour Company for the purposes of connecting visitors with Providence history and culture. His tours will be running all weekend, including food tours, architecture tours, and history tours, provided by top-notch Providence Tour Company guides (not Bradly). Note that some tours may overlap scheduled wedding events. You may use the promo code "BRADLY" for 20% off your ticket price!
Explore what the rest of Rhode Island has to offer: Some favorites include Newport (connected to Providence by a ferry), Sachuest Wildlife Refuge in Middletown (where we got engaged!), and the beaches of Narragansett. If you're planning a longer stay, consider spending a day on Block Island.
