What if I do not have GPS? Well, here goes. The location is in Folsom, near-ish the Global Wildlife Center. Head across the Causeway. Continue onto N Causeway Blvd (2mi) Continue onto Tammany Pkwy (2mi) Merge to I-12 W towards Hammond (6mi) Take exit 57 for LA1077 toward Madisonville/Goodbee Turn right onto LA1077 N (signs for Goodbee) (.5mi) At the traffic circle, take the 2nd exit onto LA-1077 S Turnpike Rd Continue to follow S Turnpike Rd for 10 miles You will start to see "Heart of the Forest" signs, this is the direction you will be heading. Turn right onto Heart of The Forest Blvd (1 mile) Turn right onto River Trace Rd (pass Song of the Forest, pass Spirit of the Forest) Keep going past the tiny house with the green door. There are also other properties you will pass but at this point you should begin to see cars.
How is the Parking? It's... a situation. Please be patient and considerate when it comes to parking. The house is down a gravel road and we may need to have people park along the road. Please be on the lookout for the sign and gate that says "ISLE OF VIEW."
Since it is winter, we chose to have our big day during the DAY so hopefully it is not TOO COLD. We will set up heaters if need be but again, do not forget your warm coats! Dress for the occasion! This is an outdoor winter wedding! Ladies, I know you like to look good in those heels but feel free to bring a pair of dance shoes to change into. We plan to have a band! NOTE*** I would highly recommend staying away from high heels/stillettos due to the grounds. Wedges, boots etc may be best! Feel free to wear a favorite dress but no need for formal gowns. Even nice pants with a shirt are welcome! Men: Sports coats, suits are great but no need to wear a tux! You can even wear jeans with boots, just dress it up with a nice coat! Bring an umbrella or poncho to leave in your car just in case it is raining, you will need it from parking to party! If it rains the ceremony will be underneath the house.
We will have food truck catering and mom is cooking up some shrimp pasta to keep us warm! If you have any food allergies or strict restrictions on what you can or can not eat, please bring a few snacks for yourself in case our food does not meet your requirements. We do have a kitchen in the house upstairs, that we can put your food in the fridge if need be if you need to bring some food to meet your dietary needs. For drinks, we will serve beer and wine. We will also have non alcoholic options.
We suggest: Checking the weather before you head on down to the party! MASKS (we hope everyone can wear a masks at least while serving their plates.) We will have sanitizer near the food and drinks and at the tables! We do not want to force our guests to wear masks the entire time, but we would greatly appreciate it if you can wear a mask while fixing your plate! Umbrellas/Ponchos/Raincoats (in case it rains, let's pray for sunshine) JACKETS (to keep warm in case it is chilly) DANCE SHOES! YOUR BEAUTIFUL SELF!
HI friends and family, while we LOVE all the kids and were planning for the kids to be invited to our original wedding, things have changed. Due to Covid-19, we have downsized our wedding by more than half. The owner of the home is only allowing me to have so many guests as well. With that said, we do not have the option to have the kids unfortunately. Please feel free to bring them home a piece of cake if we have leftovers!
