We first met in 2015 at a Clemson Football tailgate. Brad was in the final year of his PhD, and Rebecca was working at a non-profit in Greenville, SC. It was fate when Brad asked Rebecca to join him and his friends at a nearby bar after the game. We spent the night making up goofy dances and laughing together, and Brad decided to continue the romance by wooing Rebecca with GIFs over Facebook messenger. Nearly 5 months later, we had our first date on Valentine's Day, where we saw the very romantic film "The Revenant" (you know, where Leonardo DiCaprio gets mauled by a bear), and bonded further over dinner at PF Changs. Even though we both knew that Brad would eventually have to move after he graduated, we fell closer in love over the following months, enjoying many hikes, ice cream cones, and cozy nights in making dinner and playing board games. When Brad got a job offer in California in 2016, Rebecca saw it as a chance to finally pursue her own goal of becoming a software engineer out West. We dated long-distance between coasts, meeting up in interesting cities every few months. Rebecca joined Brad in California in October 2016, and we enjoyed a couple of wonderful years and lots of awesome food in the Bay Area together. After years of dating and traveling the country together, on December 8, 2018, Brad took Rebecca on a hike up Mission Peak - one of Brad's favorite spots in the Bay, and the first Bay Area hike we did together. Near the top of the hike, Brad asked Rebecca to marry him overlooking the entire Bay Area, and Rebecca, of course, said yes. Shortly after, we moved (again!) back east to Pennsylvania, and in 2020 we bought a home together. Despite all of our original wedding plans being turned upside down, we got married in our own backyard on September 18th, 2020 surrounded by the love and joy of our closest family.
