It's nicer than casual but you don't have to go renting the runway. We want you to be warm and comfortable. Plan to bring layers as the reception is in an open-air venue, and temperatures will drop quickly as the sun goes down. High heels are discouraged; wedges are a better footwear option.
Acute mountain sickness (AMS) is a common, mild illness that occurs when the body reacts to lower oxygen levels in the air at higher altitudes. Symptoms are similar to those of an alcohol hangover and can include: Headache, Nausea, Vomiting, Loss of appetite, Fatigue, Sleep disturbance, and Dizziness. Mild cases of AMS may resolve in one to three days, but severe cases may require oxygen, medications, and moving to a lower altitude. If possible, stay one night in the Denver area before coming up to Fraser/Winter Park. We live at 9000 ft above sea level and you will get winded easily. Drink extra water, rest when you can, take ibuprofen, and eat carbohydrates. Consult your primary care physician before coming if you have medical concerns.
Unpredictable! We should have a better idea as we get closer to the date, but anything is possible. Yes, it could snow/hail/rain, but we certainly hope not. Average temperatures for the second week of September include daily high temps around 75*F with nightly lows around 30*F. Forty degree temperature swings is normal. Pack a puffy coat, and probably a hat and gloves.
