Angela McAtee

Maid of Honor

Megan and Angela met in Freshman year in their religion class. They were paired up for a project together in which they had to draw what they envisioned the "Arch of the Covenant" looked like. Megan vaguely read the description and convinced Angela that it was a 4 post lounge that Pharaohs are carried on by their servants. This was not the case. Think a little more Indiana Jones and the Raider's of the Lost Ark and a little less Ancient Egypt Sedan Chair. Subsequently Megan helped Angela get her first F ever. Good thing in Megan's book, F stands for Friend as they have been best friends ever since

Clay Sampson

Best Man

Clay and Brad first met at a pre-kindergarten age in the same swimming class, as both families had recently moved to Ennis, TX. Brad and Clay spent quite a bit of time together over the years, whether it was as pee-wee basketball teammates (where Brad was the first person known to be thrown out of a game for technical fouls), Thunderdome-like pool hoops matches, or tennis death matches. Their friendship has survived cross-country moves for both as they pursued post-grad education, along with failed attempts at starting a basketball blog (the infamous BasketBlog). Brad is lucky to have a friendship that is still this strong after 28 years!

Maura Loftus- Sweetland

Bridesmaid

Maura and Megan were randomly paired as college Freshmen year roommates. The first time Megan met Maura was in their dorm room - Lassen 312. Megan had gotten to the room first and was anxiously awaiting her new roommate's arrival. Maura had gotten to the room and was having trouble with opening the door due to our weirdly shaped room keys. Megan had asked her father Mike, if she should help her new roommate on the other side of the door. Mike turned to Megan and said "Nah, let her practice!" And after an awkward amount of time later, Maura got the door open to meet her new roommate and they've been friends ever since

Larry Clem

Groomsman

Brad and Larry first met while playing machine pitch league baseball around the second grade. Their fathers became friends as well, and would often pass each other on their respective commutes to Dallas for work in near identical Nissan pickups. Larry's dad, Bobby used to laugh about how the overgrown Brad had an ability to hit the baseball directly underneath the pitching machine, bouncing around like a pinball, and allowing the less than fleet-of-foot Brad to safely reach base. When Brad transferred schools in 8th grade, they were again reconnected and became fast friends again. The two of them helped shore up Ennis High School's offensive line, leading to a state title their senior season. Through cross-country moves and everything else, they manage to always pick up where they left.

Sarah Kelly

Bridesmaid

Sarah and Megan had become friends after Maura and Sarah had joined the same sorority. Maura had invited Megan to sorority mixer even though she wasn't part of the Greek system. Being one of the only non-greeks, Megan clearly stood out. She quickly spotted SK at the party and saw her hanging out near the keg. Megan challenged SK to a chugging contest. No better way to make friends than engaging in some friendly competition. They are the kind of friends that are always on the same page. They always have each other's backs and are anticipating what the other needs. SK and Megan have shared many memories from Chico, to SF, to PDX, to Cabo, to Tahoe, and beyond!

Matt Antosik

Groomsman

Matt, the brother of the bride, and Brad first met during a Labor Day trip to Lake Tahoe, where Brad was meeting the Antosik clan for the first time. They hit it off quickly, as they both shared a passion for sports. Over the years, Matt has introduced Brad to the life of being a San Jose Sharks fan, taking him to his first game at the Shark Tank! Matt, like the rest of the Antosik clan, made Brad feel at home and a natural part of the family from day one. Whether it's shooting Fireball at the annual Christmas Eve party or intimidating the locals of San Francisco on the 4th of July in matching mullets, you're guaranteed a good time when these two are together.

Emily Turpin-Srock

Bridesmaid

Megan and Emily were roommates for two years together at Chico State. They spent some of the best summers of their lives together. They were the perfect roommates - Emily was clean, tidy, and organized. Megan was ... not. Megan learned a lot from Emily about how to be a responsible adult. Emily learned a lot from Megan on how to let loose a little bit. Their summers consisted of badminton and slip n slides in the backyard, hours and hours of floating, and moving their mattresses into the front room because it was the only place with a window unit AC. Megan will always have a soft spot for Emily and has always appreciated the lessons she has learned from her, and her ability to create a beautifully designed chore wheel.

Eric Chmelar

Groomsman

Eric is the oldest Chmelar boy, and, thankfully for Brad, a strong voice of reason. Watching Eric play football at the college level helped Brad develop a skill and mindset to perform at a high level as an offensive lineman, even though Brad HATED football as a young child. Eric has also utilized his far superior spatial skills in helping Brad cram his entire life into a truck and move away at various times, making sure there was a proper celebration before moving on. Brad is lucky to have had a shining example of stoicism and support in his life all these years!

Kaity Brooks

Bridesmaid

Kaity Brooks or just simply Brooks is one of Megan's best friends from Chico. They have lived in the same cities for almost their entire adult lives. First Chico, and now Portland. They lived their last year in Chico together where Brooks had a mountain bikes with pegs. Megan would stand on the back and together they would ride around town. Megan and Brooks are always getting into some sort of shenanigans and it's only right that they will always live within a 1 mile radius of each other. Fond memories include: porch dancing/sitting, MASH, biking ganging around town, and of course weekly dinners + jeopardy watching. Brad has quickly accepted that Megan and Brooks are a package deal

Sam Chmelar

Groomsman

Sam is the younger brother of Brad and reminds him as often as possible who is taller. Stuck in the middle of two brothers three years apart, Brad had the opportunity to pass on knowledge gained from having an older brother while still learning himself. Brad and Sam spent a year together at Stephen F Austin University on the football team as well, as Sam was a freshman while Brad was finishing up his career. Sam has been a confidant, listener, and support for Brad as they've gone through life, and knows how to egg him on (mostly for the good). They say their is strength in numbers, and Brad is lucky to have not one, but two great brothers in his life!

Kate Antosik-Parsons

Officiant

Kate is the older sister of Megan and first met Brad in Tahoe. Brad had Kate in stitches when he told her his infamous, Buffalo Wild Wings story where he had one too many wings and had to make an emergent trip to the bathroom. Lets just say he didn't make it. Kate knew from that moment on that Megan had found her other half. On a more serious note, Megan has always looked up to Kate for many reasons. She has a quick wit and hilarious sense of humor, but she also empowers the people around her to be their best selves. She exemplifies the knowledge and strength that most women can only dream. She has a fire deep inside her that can't be dimmed. She has taught Megan to never settle and to always strive for more. Megan & Brad are honored to have her be apart of their special day.
