Though we both grew up on the West Coast, fate had other plans when we each chose to attend the University of Wisconsin—drawn by the energy of a big sports school and the promise of new adventures. We first met during our freshman year, when our fraternity and sorority were paired for philanthropy events, and what started as a fun connection quickly turned into a friendship that lasted throughout college. It wasn’t until the summer before our senior year—when we both stayed in Madison—that things began to change. Brad asked Emma out, and what started with a humble first date at Gordon’s dining hall turned into a summer full of late-night Ian’s pizza trips, picnics at the Capitol, and open mic nights on the Terrace. We discovered how much we had in common—including our shared love for Michigan, where both of our families spent summers growing up. After graduation, life took us in slightly different directions. Emma stayed in Madison to finish her fifth year, while Brad moved to Chicago. Despite the distance, our relationship grew stronger, and a year later, we were reunited in the Windy City. Chicago was a chapter full of laughter, growth, and unforgettable memories. Brad worked at a marketing agency, Emma as a nursing assistant. We filled our weekends with friends, dog walks by the lake, and city adventures. It was a time of building our life together—and raising our beloved dog, Tucker, who quickly became the center of our little family. In 2023, we packed up and headed east to Boston. Emma began nursing school, and Brad joined New Balance. We quickly fell in love with the charm of the Northeast—wandering through Portland, hiking in Acadia, relaxing on Cape Cod, exploring Vermont’s beauty, and soaking in the energy of NYC. Along the way, we met a new circle of friends who made the transition feel warm and welcoming. Through it all, Michigan has remained a special place for us—a backdrop to some of our favorite memories. From summers on the lake with friends and family, to Fourth of July cornhole tournaments, grilling out on the patio, and savoring BBQ ribs from Pekadill’s, it’s where we’ve shared countless laughs and traditions. We’ve spent afternoons boating across the lake, relaxing on the beach, and no trip is complete without ice cream runs to White Duck and Bardon’s. It’s a place that feels like home. That’s why we couldn’t imagine a better place to celebrate the beginning of our next chapter. We’re so excited to bring together all of our favorite people in one of our favorite places. Thank you for being part of our story—we can’t wait to celebrate with you in Michigan!
