Brittany moved from NYC to San Francisco in July 2015, just missing Bradley who left San Francisco for China in June of 2015. However, thanks to dating app algorithms, when Bradley returned to the Bay Area to attend Burning Man, they both swiped right and it was a match on September 12, 2015! Fun fact: that was Bradley's first Burning Man adventure and Brittany had tickets for that year, a first for her as well, but she gave up her tickets to friends as her hands were full setting up life in San Francisco With 6,884 miles between them, their first date would have to wait. Bradley returned in November, but Brittany was in SF for only three days that month, so their first date didn’t happen until December 11, 2015. According to Bradley, during those three months they messaged and talked ALL the time. For Brittany it was minimal. But if you know them both well so that probably sounds about right. Fair to say their first date was pretty epic as far as online dating in a big city goes. Dinner at The House, followed by gelato ice cream, and Brittany's first visit to Twin Peaks at night to enjoy the beauty of San Francisco. That night they both knew they were in "trouble" and may have met their match. Interestingly, Mondo was not so convinced about Bradley and Bradley referred to Mondo as "not a real dog" for some time. Little did they both know they would fall madly in love with one another.
Early on, their busy work lives, especially Bradley’s, often kept them apart and Brittany felt like a “weekend girlfriend.” On weekends, when they did have time to live life together and explore, Brittany (and her friends) would tag it #WeekendsWithBrad. As a result, that silly hashtag chronicles a lot of their journey, especially on Instagram.
In typical Bradley fashion, he had Mondo, his trusty wing dog, officially propose for him. On July 23, 2019, the three year anniversary of Brittany and Bradley living together, Bradley fashioned Mondo's collar with a sign, saying, "Will you marry my dad?" Brittany was utterly surprised in that moment (and sleepy, too, as it was after midnight). But it was an easy “Yes!” And with that #WeekendsWithBrad graduated to #LifetimeWithBrad.
On September 12, 2020, Bradley and Brittany will officially become husband and wife. If you are keeping track that is their five-year “swipeaversay”. They will hold an intimate ceremony at The Pennsylvanian’s Rotunda which due to COVID-19 might be just them and Mondo, but they hope to have their immediate family and wedding party join them as they exchange vows. Their original hope was to host a celebration and casual party in the Beaver area to invite the family, friends, and people who helped raise and support Bradley. They could think of nothing better than to spend that evening eating, drinking and basking in new marital bliss with their East Coast community. Due to the global pandemic, they are monitoring what might be possible for a gathering and celebration of over fifty people so see the “schedule” tab to get an idea of the options being explored. They waited to share details (and launch this site!) in the hopes of knowing more, but it seems things are still evolving weekly and hence the plans are more fluid. And for those of you know who know Brittany, she is often a woman with a solid plan so Bradley is helping her by reassuring her it will be great whatever it ends up being! They hope to be able to fly to Pittsburgh and do as much of their original vision as possible, but also recognize health and safety is way more important than a party. If they are unable to fly they plan to get married in their backyard in Northern California. Separately, Bradley and Brittany plan to celebrate their one year anniversary in September 2021 with their West Coast community and broader circle of friends and colleagues in Sea Ranch, California. But for now, they are focused on getting excited for the BIG day on September 12, 2020.
