Alyssa had given up on online dating as most know it can be pretty brutal out there. After Friday night, September 11th, while hanging out with her friend Kiley, Alyssa decided to give it one more try and agreed to take it seriously for just one more week. If nothing came from it, she was done. Who would have known that 2 days later, on Sunday night, September 13th, Alyssa would match with Brad and their story would begin.
After a few days of constant texting and a facetime call or two, Alyssa and Brad finally decided to meet. Alyssa was a little difficult to arrange time for Brad. It was a crazy busy week between her brother-in-law's birthday dinner on Thursday, her friend, Amber's birthday celebration on Friday night, and then her friend Kristina's birthday celebration on Saturday night. Alyssa got suckered in (after being difficult) since Brad was adamant about meeting. They met for lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings on Saturday, September 19th and the rest was history.
After years of dating and living together, Alyssa and Brad have always talked about their future together. Brad knew that Alyssa was starting to get impatient (I think everyone was). On the day of the eclipse, Brad came home from work and insisted they go on a walk with the dog since it was "so nice out." Alyssa kept saying she still had to work and he should just go alone. Brad (as patient and a saint as he is) decided to just wait for Alyssa to be done working. Once Alyssa finally finished her day, they started their walk with the dog like any normal event. They always walk through College Park, a small quaint park, that is in their neighborhood. Brad took Alyssa a little off the normal straight path and got down on one knee and asked Alyssa to marry him. Of course, Alyssa said "YES!"
